We did it!!!! We raised
$10,295.00

What a fantastic result to everyone involved.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved, who have contributed in making this day the success that it was.
To my family and friends, who volunteered, the day would not have been possible without your hard work and support. With love and thanks I am truly grateful to you all, I owe you big time!!

An even bigger thankyou to Tim Hartung (Dylans Dad) for making time out to be present on the day. Tim gave us an update on Dylans progress and shared some very kind words which extended to all of us who were present on the day. I was truly touched by his sincere words of thanks. It makes it all worth it. Thankyou Tim.

To Dylan, Tim, Melissa and Cain

Sorry for the late posting, I had my 3 year old at the Royal Childrens, having a small procedure on his eye. Even though he was under for a short time, I was a wreck, (mind you he didn’t take it well at all). Sitting in those places really opens your eyes. When you see the other children and babies being taken in, it really hits home as to how lucky you really are. So you can imagine how hard it must be for Dylan and his family and for what they have been through.

    YOU TOO CAN HELP!
    PURCHASE A TICKET AND REMEMBER
    ALL THE PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS

    THE DYLAN HARTUNG CAMPAIGN!!!!

    Friday, August 18, 2006

We are putting together a trash and treasure market on the day. What is that you might ask? Put together any of your old product, tools, embellishments etc, package it up and put a price on it. We will set up a little shopping area and other people on the day can purchase it of you. If it is sold then 10% of the sale goes towards The Dylan Hartung Campaign, and the rest in your pocket. If you would like to participate clearly package your items with clear plastic wrap in one parcel, itemise the contents and attach it to the parcel, then hand it in upon registration on the day. So have a clean out and remember One Mans Junk is another Mans TREASURE!!!

Yesterday I called into a shop at Hampton Park Shopping Centre called ARTY PANTS and met a lovely lady by the name of Jodie. Jodie has kindly offered to donate a prize for the day. If you happen to be in the area please take the time to have a look around the shop, and say hi to one of the friendly staff.

I also received confirmation of another donation from Addicted to Craft which will be going inside the goodie bags. Also a big thankyou to Pip Preston from Little Grasshoppers Child Care. Pip has made a donation of cardstock which will also be incorporated in the Goodie Bags.

    Stay tuned for more updates!!!!!

    Thursday, August 17, 2006

I have been contacting some local radio stations to have something aired so hopefully we may here something back from them soon. I'm also working on Channel 7 at the moment, who knows what could happen there, keep your fingers crossed!
I also want to advertise at as many schools as I can so if any can help out there please let me know. I have just heard from my dear friend Tanja and Wurth Australia have kindly donated a world cup soccer ball that opens out into a cd player and radio. Thanks Tan.
Well I'm now off to promote ticket sales, wish me luck.

    Monday, August 14, 2006

Dylan is a 7 year old Australian boy who was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma on 26th July 2004 when he was 5 years old. Dylan was classed as refractory in December 2004, meaning he no longer responded to the regular Neuroblastoma protocols of treatment. As Dylan still has Neuroblastoma evident in his bones, the doctors in Australia would not perform surgery or harvest his stem cells to continue treatment regimes. We were told that Dylan had 2 – 12 months to live and there was little more that could be done for Dylan.

Dylan's fight for survival has led him to America, where they have many treatments that are not currently available in Australia, one in particular is called 3F8 Monoclonal antibodies. Dylan had his stem cells successfully harvested on the 7th and 8th February 2005 and had his main abdominal tumor entirely removed on the 9th February 2005 by a highly skilled surgeon who is an expert in the field of Neuroblastoma, at MSKCC in New York. Without this surgery, Dylan would not be alive today. Dylan has now commenced treatment to tackle the Neuroblastoma still present in his bones. We will continue our fundraising, as Dylan requires ongoing medical treatment in the US.
